Of course who does not love Christmas. But decorating your home on Christmas is an important tradition. Now you can decorate your house on Christmas by hiring somebody, but then it kills the spirit of Christmas. So there are two ways to decorate your home for Christmas - one, you can buy lots of stores made products and decorate your home. Two, you can do some DIY and add a few stores brought materials. Before we proceed with Christmas decorations, it's essential to know why do we celebrate Christmas and decorate our houses.
What is Christmas?
Christmas is the time of joy and good tidings. People across the world celebrate it with great enthusiasm. It is celebrated as the birth of Jesus Christ; he's believed to be the Son of God, by Christians.
It is the time of the year when even the most screwed people believe in the hope that their life can change for better. It's the spirit of Christmas that enlightens your home that much any of your store brought decorations would not be able to do. It's the time of the year when the markets are flooded with goodies, gifts, twinkling lights, candles, carols etc.
Christmas Home Decor Ideas.
Well, this year be prepared to deck the halls with lots of new ideas. Now the point is where do we begin because usually there's a lot of decoration to be covered and there are many who might not have time to decorate their house. So what you can do is divide the work for each day, and finally, by the end, you reach Christmas, your home will be all ready. Now to simplify decoration, I've divided them based on various rooms and furniture, starting with the kitchen and table decors.
1) Kitchen Decor Ideas.
The heart of the home is , The Kitchen. And what better than crisp clear and traditional red and green combination. You can buy or make a wreath to hang on all of your kitchen drawers so you can go vice versa like a green wreath and red ribbon or a red wreath and green ribbon. In your small corners maybe you can keep small pot Christmas trees or fix a few branches and add Christmas decorations to it. Also to add more you can hang snowflakes in the centre of your kitchen. You can also have crockery on the theme of Christmas.
2) Dining Room and Table Decors.
Moving from the kitchen comes to your dining room. It is the time for wreaths again, on your dining chairs you can tie up the wreaths with a ribbon. The most vital part of dining room decor is your centrepieces. Now centre pieces can have a lot many ways of being decorated. If you have a smaller dining table -
-
Candles With Large Decorated Stands.
You can take a few scented candles and take longer stands for keeping them. Now make a base out of natural leaves and lay them on the table. Decorate your stand with lots of branches, leaves and pine cones. If you don't have time, you can also get them artificially from the market.
-
Hanging Lights.
For above your dining table, hanging lights, there are just too many ways. You can have a bulbs cord and hang from one end to the other. You can add a series of lights to a frame and hang it or also with you can add branches and also with the same design you can fix a few candles too.
3) Living Room.
The living room is the place full of warmth and comfort. Living has a lot to be decorated frankly because we are just getting started with the festivities. So for the living room, we'll go according to the various spots in your house.
-
Windows.
Since your windows are already dressed in curtains, you can add a decorated garland to its edges to complete the look. It will give you that warmth that was missing.
-
Center Table.
If you have a center table or a center seating you can add more to your decorations. For center tables, you can either add just one piece like take a ceramic tray, add some of your favorite items and it's done. Or you can always go with a few candles inside lamps and decorated with fresh greens around it and some shiny Christmas balls, along with miniature toys.
-
Center Seating.
For Center seating, you can add a small blanket, a faux fur cover, a tiny pillow or Santa soft toy.
4) Fireplace.
Well if you have a fireplace in your house, you can always have yet another spot for cleaning and decorating. So for your furnace, you can either go for a traditionally decorated garland and long socks to fill your gifts, and your Christmas tree could go next to it. Or you can mix a few rice lights and hang them from the fireplace, and place your favorite toys, nutcrackers and anything you want on top of it.
5) Hallway Christmas Decors.
The hallway is the main entrance of your home. Since it's a hallway, you can't keep anything there or stick garlands. So my best of the two ideas for hallway include hanging snowflakes that you can buy at the store, or you can make them using a stencil or hanging star lights and starry or flowery series of lights. If you are hanging snowflakes, make sure they have lots of glitters, so that on the reflection of light they shine a lot. Or you can also take a few bells that ring, decorate them and hang them so that people can ring them when they get in.
6) Front Door.
Wreaths are too common to hang on front doors. But apart from wreaths for front doors, you can always go with two things, either a DIY craft, with added green garlands and sparkling balls and of course with something from the hallmark store to complete the look. Or you can stick a Christmas sticker on the doors back.
7) Wall Decor.
So for your walls you can add up a lot of photo frames that can be there for year long, with all your old memories in it or to make a difference you can just add a green garland around it, or you can just go with a sticker on the wall, and that's it, if you don't want to do much.
8) Staircase.
For your staircase, you can take up green garland and wrap along the way, if you don't want green then you can design one out of fresh flowers of any color you want. And add bells, balls and pearls to it.
